A nice full leather tree calf binding with gilt decoration to spine and boards, marbled endpapers, page-block with all edges gilt, and housed in a recent custom-made quarter leather ‘solander’ style box with gilt decoration and title to spine and with felt lining. x, 297pp including b/w illustrations plus frontispiece. 8 x 5.5 inches approx. Overall, a handsome binding safely stored in an equally attractive box – lovely indeed.
