Film tie-in of the Gaumont British Picture Corporation movie “The Rome Express” (1932) based on Clifford Grey’s play and starring Esther Ralston and Conrad Veidt.
This novelisation adapted by Ruth Alexander (1879-1958)†, the author of many early film novelisations including Arnold Ridley’s “Ghost Train” and Charles Bennett’s “Blackmail” and “The Man Who Knew Too Much”.
Superb dustwrapper art by Waddell.
Hardback in dustwrapper. pp 250, [3] publisher’s adverts. 6.5 x 4.25 inches approx. (169mm x 108mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially spine ends and corner tips; dusty; lightly foxed. Light wear to boards; spine cocked and concaved/creased, gilt dulled. Pages age tanned but generally clean throughout.
Nonetheless, a particularly nice, clean copy – attractive in its dustwrapper.
