Perhaps best known as the author of ‘Mist Over Pendle’ (1951) Robert Neill also wrote many other well regarded historical novels including ‘The Golden Days’, the middle book in the trilogy that included ‘Crown and Mitre’ (1971) and ‘Lillibullero’ (1975).
Jacket design by Val Biro.
Hardback in dustwrapper with original price of £2.25 net. [8], 244pp. 8.75 x 5.75 inches approx. (223mm x 145mm).
A short tear (5mm) to top edge of dustwrapper at spine/rear panel juncture; spotting along top edge to reverse side; tanning to rear panel/spine juncture; spot to lower edge of rear panel. Endpapers showing some offsetting (mirroring dustwrapper flaps); spotting to edges of page-block, especially top edge.
Nonetheless, a particularly well preserved copy showing just light wear commensurate with age and storage – has the feel and smell of being in a bookcase, hardly touched, for over forty-five years …delightful.
