BARLOW BOOK FAIR

On Saturday, 17th June 2023 is the BARLOW BOOK FAIR open 9.30-4 at ‘The Barlow’, Edgworth BL7 0AP.

Around ten dealers with a good range of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. Also exhibiting are the Turton Local History Society who will have a selection of their publications to buy.

Café serving refreshments in ‘The Reading Room’, with nearby car parking.

The pretty village of Edgworth is to the north of Bolton and situated within the Borough of Blackburn and Darwen. Just a short distance away are Rossendale, Ramsbottom and Bury. Local attractions include Jumbles Country Park and Turton Tower.

GARGRAVE BOOK FAIR

On Saturday, 3rd June 2023 is the GARGRAVE BOOK FAIR open 10am – 4.00pm at the Village Hall, West Street BD23 3RD.

Around eighteen dealers selling a range of second-hand, out-of-print and collectable books and ephemera. Café serving excellent home-made food and parking nearby.

The pretty village of Gargrave is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, accessed by the A65 Kendal/Ilkley road and within easy reach of Skipton and Settle.

On Bank Holiday Monday, 29th May 2023 is the SETTLE BOOK FAIR open 10-4 at Victoria Hall, Kirkgate BD24 9DZ.

Around twelve dealers selling a wide range of secondhand and collectable books and ephemera. Café serving excellent home-made food and car parks nearby.

The market town of Settle is situated in the Yorkshire Dales, accessed by the A65 Kendal/Ilkley road and within easy reach of Skipton and Ingleton.

SEDBERGH BOOK FAIR

On Saturday, 27th May 2023 is the SEDBERGH BOOK FAIR open 10am-4pm at the People’s Hall, Howgill Lane LA10 5DQ.

Around ten dealers with a good range of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. Café serving home-made refreshments.

The Hall has a small free car park, however if full then nearby pay and display car parks can be found in Joss Lane behind the Sedbergh Information Centre and at Loftus Hill near St. Andrew’s Church.

Sedbergh, the Cumbrian market town in the Yorkshire Dales, is England’s Book Town and many of the local shops have some book shelves to browse, not forgetting Westwood Books at Long Lane LA10 5AH and the Howgills Bookshop at the Information Centre LA10 5AD.

MANCHESTER BOOK FAIR

On Sunday, 14th May 2023 is the MANCHESTER BOOK FAIR at The Monastery, Gorton Lane, Manchester M12 5WF.

First held in 2019, this will be the fourth book fair at Gorton Monastery in the magnificent setting of the Great Nave. With around twenty dealers exhibiting for sale a wide range of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera there is sure to be much of interest to new and regular visitors.

There is a café serving light refreshments and a large car park onsite.

The Monastery in the Manchester suburb of West Gorton is easily reached via Hyde Road (A57) off Junction 24 of the M60 motorway.

LONGRIDGE BOOK FAIR

On Easter Saturday, 8th April 2023 is the LONGRIDGE BOOK FAIR open 10-4 at the Civic Hall, Calder Avenue PR3 3HJ.

Traditionally held at Easter and the longest established fair on the North West Book Fairs calendar having run for over thirty years.

Around fifteen dealers offering for sale a good mixture of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. Café and a large free car park.

Longridge is situated in the Ribble Valley close to Grimsargh and Ribchester, within easy reach of Preston and the M6 motorway, and just a short distance from Clitheroe via the B6243. Nearby attractions include Beacon Fell Country Park near Bleasdale, the Bowland Wild Boar Park near Chipping, and the beautiful scenery of the Forest of Bowland.

On Sunday, 2 April 2023 is the CLAPHAM BOOK FAIR at the Village Hall, Cross Haw Lane LA2 8DZ.

The pretty village of Clapham is located just off the A65 between Settle and Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales, with the attractions of Ingleborough and Gaping Gill close by.

HORNBY BOOK FAIR

On Saturday, 18th February 2023 is the HORNBY BOOK FAIR open 10am – 4pm at The Institute, Main Street, Hornby LA2 8JR.

Around thirteen dealers selling second-hand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. There is a café serving excellent home-made food and nearby car parking.

The village of Hornby, with the River Wenning running through and overlooked by the picturesque Hornby Castle, is situated on the A683 road and within easy distance of Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton.
