Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam (Hodder & Stoughton, circa 1920) illustrated by Edmund Dulac with twelve coloured plates
Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám
rendered into English by Edward Fitzgerald
with illustrations by Edmund Dulac
Hodder and Stoughton, [not dated] circa 1920
The Dulac illustrated edition was first published 1909 with twenty colour plates, this copy being a later printing with twelve colour plates.
Hardback – publisher’s cloth with gilt titles and decoration. viii + 189pp plus 12 tipped-in colour plates. 8.25 x 6.25 inches approx. (207mm x 155mm).
Light wear and rubbing to covers with slight crushing to spine ends but otherwise nice and bright. Foxing throughout, quite heavy in places especially to preliminaries and last few pages; page block heavily spotted to edges and encroaching into margins.
Nonetheless, remains an attractive and presentable copy.
