The Hanscom/Cumming illustrated edition with black & white plates was originally published 1905 in New York by Dodge Publishing, the UK edition following in 1908 from George Harrap. In 1912 Dodge published with coloured plates, the Harrap edition (this copy) coming in 1914.
Hardback – publisher’s cloth with titles and decoration to spine and front board, page-block with top-edge-gilt. [160]pp with 28 colour plates. 10.5 x 8 inches approx. (265mm x 204mm).
Cloth rubbed and scratched, some wear to extremities, a few grubby marks or stains. A gift inscription in ink to front free endpaper, with a patch of light rubbing to upper corner; dampstain to upper margin of first blank page; some foxing and dustiness throughout especially to tissue guards but generally pages are clean; occasional rough cut to page fore-edge.
Nonetheless, remains a nice, clean copy in presentable condition.
