Nice little ‘Rubáiyát’ in attractive binding complete with original glassine wrap and presentation box with label stating OMAR KHAYYAM No. 3 | ANT. BOARDS to lid end.
Hardback – leather/faux-leather binding with decoration in gilt and red to spine and front board. 94pp including page decorations and twelve b/w plates. 6.75 x 5 inches approx. (173mm x 124mm).
Wear/loss to binding at fore-edge and upper corner of front board, and to rear board hinge at spine head – this appears to be insect damage – otherwise lightly rubbed and marked. A previous owner’s name in ink to to lower margin of front free endpaper; pages spotted to edges, a touch dusty and marked but generally clean throughout. Glassine wrap very creased and worn with some minor tears/loss; discolouration. Box worn and stained, some splitting to edges, but otherwise still very functional as a box.
Nonetheless, remaining a reasonably nice, attractive copy – and nice to find complete with box.
