Signed and dated with the compliments of Sir William [Young] Darling (1885-1962), owner of Darling & Company, Lord Provost of Edinburgh 1941-44, and the Member of Pariament for the Edinburgh South constituency 1945-57. He was also the anonymous author of ‘The Private Papers of a Bankrupt Bookseller’ (Oliver And Boyd, 1931) and ‘The Bankrupt Bookseller Speaks Again’ (Oliver And Boyd, [1938])†.
Hardback in dustwrapper. 32pp including colour plates. 9.25 x 7.25 inches approx. (232mm x 185mm).
Dustwrapper a little dusty and marked; lightly rubbed and worn, some edge tears and creasing. Cloth clean and bright. Pages age toned but generally clean throughout; dusty and spotted to top edge of page-block.
Overall, light wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy – attractive.
