A walking/guide book in the “On Foot” series from the publishers Alexander Maclehose. Each book in the series with attractive dustwrapper art. The artist for this title not immediately identifiable – the monogram ‘MS’ or ‘SM’ appears on the map resting next to the rucksack.
Hardback – cloth with titles to spine and front board, rounded corners to boards, in a beige dustwrapper priced 5 shilling to spine. pp xvi, 206, [1] advert, plus b/w plates and map endpapers. 7.5 x 5 inches approx. (189mm x 129mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, some creasing, small loss to corner tips and spine head; dusty and marked, darkened to spine. Cloth a little dusty. Pages a little dusty, occasional foxing, but generally clean throughout; edges of page-block dusty and spotted.
Overall, showing wear but otherwise a reasonably nice copy.
