A volume in the ‘Sunshine Series’ with sixteen colour plates. The earlier [1929] twenty-four plate ‘Sunshine Series’ edition credits Margaret W. Tarrant as the illustrator. The plates in this edition are clearly the Tarrant illustrations but have been slightly ‘re-worked’ (…by an in-house artist?), presumably for the more modern fifties generation.

This copy stamped to the title page indicating a showroom copy of the publisher’s.

Hardback in dustwrapper. 128pp plus sixteen colour plates. 10 x 7.5 inches approx. (251mm x 192mm).

Dustwrapper a touch dusty and marked; showing some light wear and rubbing. Boards nice and clean, very fresh; pages a touch dusty in places but generally clean.

Overall, a particularly well preserved copy – quite lovely.
