Love What I Think of It by Elinor Glyn (The Readers Library, ) with dustwrapper
Love – What I Think of It
London: The Readers Library Publishing Company Ltd, *
Elinor Glyn (1864-1943), screenwriter and author of risqué romantic fiction.
This title originally published in the US as ‘The Philosophy of Love’ (The Authors’ Press, 1923), in which Glyn discusses love and attraction.
Lovely dustwrapper art by Dudley T[—–]; difficult to decipher surname but very similiar to the usual signature of artist/book illustrator Dudley Tennant (1866/7-1952).
Hardback in dustwrapper. 249pp. Size: 6.5 x 4.25 inches approx. (170mm x 105mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially to spine ends, corner tips, and flap folds; small loss; dusty and marked in places, spine darkened, number in ink to foot; repaired to verso with postage stamps. Light shelf wear to covers, gilt dulled to spine. Pages age tanned throughout but otherwise appear clean; number in ink to title page verso; a few ‘loose’ pages appear to have been glued in with some resultant tightness to page gutter (later repair or original?).
Nonetheless, remaining a nicely preserved copy – attractive in its dustwrapper.
