H. Rider Haggard
Cassell and Company Limited, reprint 1909
A reprint of the Russell Flint illustrated edition originally published in 1905.
Hardback – publisher’s cloth with gilt title and decoration to spine, marbled endpapers. pp xii, 306, publisher’s catalogue, plus b/w plates and colour fold-out route map. 7.75 x 5.25 inches approx. (199mm x 133mm).
Cloth lightly rubbed and worn, especially to corner tips and spine ends, and a little grubby and marked in places; boards a touch bumped to corners, mainly upper front. Pages age toned and foxed throughout, somewhat heavy in places, some dustiness but generally clean; edges of fold-out map creased upon closing book; occasional corner crease or wear to pages; foxing/spotting to edges of page-block with some encroachment into page margins.
Nonetheless, remaining a nice copy – attractive with its gilt decorated spine.
