Hardback – publisher’s cloth binding with blind stamp design to front and rear, gilt titles and decoration, illustration inlay to front. 121pp + colour frontispiece + 4pp publisher’s catalogue. 6.25 x 4 inches approx. (160mm x 103mm).
Cloth rubbed and lightly worn; illustration to front board slightly scuffed and scratched with a sliver missing. Front endpaper showing a small dampstain to lower margin near hinge; attractive inscription in ink to title page – Maggie Bates January 1869; occasional foxing throughout; page edges dusty and spotted; smudge/grubby mark to final text page.
Overall, showing wear commensurate with age but remains a nice copy – lovely indeed.
