A collection of a series of articles first appearing in the ‘Blackburn Times’ written by its editor and local historian J. G. [John George] Shaw (1858-1937)*, to which has been added a paper and mechanical drawings by E. Sandeman.
Very uncommon.
Hardback – publisher’s red cloth over heavy bevelled boards with gilt title and decoration to front; page-block with all edges gilt. pp x, [1] frontispiece, [1]-91 including b/w illustrations, 4 mechanical drawings including 1 fold-out, [2] subscriber list. Size: 10 x 7.75 inches approx. (255mm x 194mm).
Cloth very clean and bright with just a hint of rubbing/dustiness; gilt bright. Endpapers a little dusty and creased; toning and offsetting to half-title and final page; some dustiness otherwise pages clean throughout; two instances of pages remaining uncut to bottom edge.
Overall, in nice, clean condition – an exceptional copy and quite lovely.
