Hardback – publisher’s blind-stamped red cloth with gilt title to spine and front board; two sewn-in ribbon pagemarkers; edges of page-block marbled. In a plain light brown dustwrapper with circular (price?) label to rear. pp lvi, 490, endpapers (publisher’s list, map), 30 maps & 34 plans. An attractive bookseller/stationers label to title page. Size: 6.25 x 4.5 inches approx. (161mm x 113mm).
Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially spine ends and corner tips; short edge tears and creasing; larger tear to lower fold of front flap; dusty/grubby. Cloth lightly rubbed to extremities but generally clean, gilt dulled to spine; boards lightly knocked to corners. Pages a touch dusty otherwise generally clean throughout; occasional crease to pages/maps.
Overall, light wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy – uncommon to find in dustwrapper.
