Macmillan Children’s Books published facsimile editions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, each were available in both cloth and leather bindings. The cloth editions were available separately and as two volumes together, in slipcase.
Hardback – publisher’s red cloth binding with title in gilt to spine and gilt decoration to boards, page-block with all edges gilt, dark green endpapers. Housed in a custom-made slipcase with red buckram ends and yellow/red Clairefontaine Ingres papered sides. pp [12], 192, [3] blank, [1] colophon, including b/w illustrations. 7.25 x 5.25 inches approx. (188mm x 131mm).
A light scuff/dent to spine. Lacks the original slipcase.
A nice, clean copy – very attractive with its complementary custom slipcase.
