A volume in Dent’s “The Children’s Illustrated Classics” series.

This edition originally published 1954 with eight of Tenniel’s illustrations redrawn in colour by Diana Stanley, this copy being a later printing.

Hardback – publisher’s decorated cloth with titles to spine and front board, matching decorated endpapers, in a price-clipped dustwrapper. pp x, 246, including b/w illustrations plus 8 colour plates. 8.5 x 5.75 inches approx. (217mm x 144mm).

Dustwrapper rubbed and worn, especially to spine ends and corner tips; small loss to spine ends; short tears and creasing to top edge of rear panel; foxed and spotted, mainly visible to flaps and verso; a little sunned and dulled to spine; dusty. Cloth clean and bright. Spotting and toned to edges of page-block with some encroachment in to margins but pages generally clean throughout; musty.

Overall, showing some wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy.
